HC Deb 17 February 1947 vol 433 c124W
88. Mr. Marples

asked the Minister of Works the quantity of baths, basins, sinks or any type of component in Government stores which are surplus to requirements of the temporary housing programme; and for what purpose these are being held.

Mr. Key

Very few baths, basins and sinks are held in Government surplus stores and most of them are secondhand and not suitable for the temporary housing programme. If these articles cannot be brought into use for other Government purposes they will be put up for disposal in the usual way. I am not clear what other type of component the hon. Member has in mind, but if he will give me details I will see whether figures can he made available.
