HC Deb 17 February 1947 vol 433 c116W
41. Mr. Pickthorn

asked the Minister of Transport why a P. & O. ship, whose name has been given to him, recently took 2½ days to load in South Africa and 22 days to unload in London; and why 60 rifles which were in the cargo were unloaded by dockers at a cost of £20, though the Army had sent a small party of soldiers to do this work.

Mr. Barnes

As the answer is necessarily a long one I am sending full information by letter to the hon. Member.
