asked the Under-Secretary of State for India what are the latest known population figures for each of the Andaman Islands; and what is the racial constitution of each island population.

According to the 1941 Census of India the population of the Andaman Islands in that year was 21,316, and that of the Nicobar Islands (which with the Andaman Islands form a single administrative unit) 12,452. The published Census figures do not show the racial constitution of these populations, nor the population of the individual islands comprised in these two groups.
