§ Mr. Byersasked the Secretary of State for War the reasons for the sudden withdrawal, without notice, of German prisoner of war labour from Whistley Farm, Milton, Gillingham, Dorset; if he is aware that this withdrawal has resulted in a decline in milk production; and what steps he proposes to take to assist Mr. Bullock, the farmer, to obtain prisoner of war labour immediately.
§ Mr. BellengerPrisoner of war labour was withdrawn from Mr. Bullock, with the agreement of the representative of the war agricultural executive committee, because of his unsatisfactory behaviour towards the prisoners over a long period. Complaints were made by the prisoners themselves, by their camp leader and by the British non-commissioned officer in charge of the prisoners. I understand that Mr. Bullock has obtained alternative labour.
