Darlingasked the Assistant Postmaster-General if wireless talks on political subjects by newspaper correspondents from Europe are submitted to his Department before being broadcast; if he is aware that some recent talks contained propaganda embarrassing to Great Britain; if he is aware that the Director of Talks, B.B.C., refuses to supply extracts from the broadcasts to responsible British subjects; and if he will take steps to have this altered.
§ Mr. BurkeThe answer to the first part of the Question is in the negative. With regard to the remainder of the Question it is the policy of the Government to allow the Corporation full independence in the day-to-day conduct of its programmes and of its internal administration.
