HC Deb 12 February 1947 vol 433 c63W
77. Mr. Rees-Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether in view of the need of fresh fish to supplement the rice ration in Malaya and of the fact that the Malay fishermen are short of fishing equipment, he will render these fishermen such assistance as is necessary to make good this deficiency.

Mr. Creech Jones

Every effort is being made to supply the fishermen in Malaya with the necessary equipment to enable them to increase their catches, and the Special Commissioner for South East Asia is paying particular attention to this matter.
