104. Mr. Boyleasked the Minister of Labour if grants are made to ex-Servicemen, who are engaged in the building trades, for the purchase of tools for their work; and whether all such men are notified of this grant at the time of demobilisation.
§ Mr. IsaacsAssistance towards the purchase of a kit of tools may be given to ex-Servicemen who need them for work in a trade where it is the custom for employees to possess their own tools, and who are unable to buy them wholly from their own resources. These arrangements are a later development of the resettlement grants scheme, which is referred to in the pamphlet "For Your Guidance" issued to all men on release. They have been brought to the notice of members of the Forces through the Services' Resettlement and Information Bulletins and through talks and lectures in both home and overseas commands.
