63. Mr. McKie

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the hardship caused to British subjects who have lived many years out of this country in not being able to draw the old age pension, unless since their return home they have completed 12 years' residence here; and if he will take steps to remedy this position.

Mr. Dalton

This residence condition applies only to non-contributory pensions and is, I think, reasonable.
