HC Deb 10 February 1947 vol 433 c2W
26. Major Legge-Bourke

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware of the decision of the Irish Cattle Traders and Stockowners Association to consider the establishment of a dead meat trade with the Continent rather than sell to His Majesty's Government; and what steps he is taking to obtain a higher proportion of fresh meat for the British people.

Mr. Strachey

I have seen Press reports of the Association's recent discussion on the possible development of a livestock trade with the Continent. As to the second part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Kingston-upon-Thames on 2nd December, 1946.
