§ Mr. HardmanLocal education authorities are not required to consult my Department about the appointment of individual dentists, and I was not aware of the incident mentioned in the first part of the Question. No regulations have been made limiting appointments to the School Dental Service to dentists of either sex. Women dental officers are, in fact, employed by a number of local education authorities.
