Mr. Gallacher

asked the Minister of Works whether he will give particulars of the licences issued for industrial building in 1946, showing how many of these licences were issued in the development areas and how many in Scotland.

6,652 licences for work costing £65,674,422 were issued during 1946 for new construction and extensions of industrial buildings in Great Britain. Of these, 1,194 licences for work costing £29,161,618 were in respect of premises in development areas while 361 for work costing £8,620,000 were for premises in Scotland as a whole including the Scottish development area.
