HC Deb 04 February 1947 vol 432 c316W
78. Mr. Carson

asked the President of the Board of Trade the proportion of all photographic films that are allotted for export; and whether he is aware that, in spite of his reply to the hon. Member for the Isle of Thanet on this subject on 4th March last, the position is still little better at home.

Mr. Belcher

There is no special export allocation for films, but the photographic goods industry as a whole has been set an export target of 50 per cent. of its total production. I am aware that film for the use of the general public is still scarce but, apart from the needs of export, there are important industrial demands which have to be met.
