HC Deb 03 February 1947 vol 432 c279W
83. Mr. Willis

asked the Minister of Food what reply he has given to the representations made to him by the Scottish Retail Fruit Trade Federation concerning recent allocations of imported fruit to Scotland.

Mr. Strachey

I have sent my hon. Friend a copy of my letter to the Federation, which explains that Scotland did not get any Almerian grapes—about 10 per cent. of the total supply—because the contract was not fulfilled, but points out that Scotland has received a much larger share of the other fruits we import than the Midlands or the South.
