HC Deb 19 December 1947 vol 445 c438W
Mr. Lambert

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that cultivation on Kitchadon Farm, Eggesford, Devon, has come to a standstill, as the farmer Mr. H. V. Robins is unable to obtain tractor tyres, though he ordered them in February, 1947; and when the tyres will be available.

Mr. T. Williams

No, I understand the farmer in question has two tractors, one of which is working. A pair of tyres size 11.25 x 24 are required for the other tractor, which is now immobilised. The supply of new tyres of this size is still difficult, but special steps are being taken to secure early delivery in this case. In the meantime my Department has suggested a source from which second-hand tyres can be obtained.
