HC Deb 19 December 1947 vol 445 c440W
Mr. Donner

asked the Minister of Supply whether his attention has been drawn to the damage caused to the verge, kerbs, and cat's-eyes in the roads and to the white lines of a semi-permanent nature, as well as to the surface of the roads by tanks running from Chertsey to Stockbridge; and whether he will divert them to proper testing grounds.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

I am aware that minor damage is occasionally caused to this road by tanks. The use of this and other roads by tanks and tracked vehicles is at present being considered by a subcommittee of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Services Land Requirements.
