HC Deb 19 December 1947 vol 445 c465W
Sir J. Mellor

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power why the owner of motorcar CWK 914, Divisional reference M49509, has, notwithstanding his request for more, only been allowed petrol sufficient for two visits a month to his son, aged twelve, in hospital at Coleshill suffering from infantile paralysis; and if he will increase the allowance.

Mr. Gaitskell

I regret that an error was made in assessing this application. An adequate allowance has now been granted.

Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he is satisfied that his regional officers are able to deal with applications from agriculturists requiring petrol urgently for farming purposes; and if he will consider an emergency arrangement to deal with any back-log of applications received.

Mr. Gaitskell

Yes, the work is well up to date in all offices.
