HC Deb 19 December 1947 vol 445 cc448-9W
Mr. C. Poole

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that Messrs. Montague Burton, of Walsall, insist that a customer ordering a suit of clothes and not requiring a waistcoat is required to purchase this latter garment; and will he take steps to prevent this.

Mr. H. Wilson

I understand that a customer is not required by this firm to purchase a waistcoat except possibly when he is buying a ready made suit. The second part of the Question, therefore, does not arise.
