§ 82. Mr. J. Morrisonasked the Minister of Fuel and Power how many gallons of petrol were used per week during September; and what was the amount used during the first week of December, following the abolition of basic petrol.
§ Mr. GaitskellFigures of the petrol used are not available. Deliveries by the Petroleum Board for civilian consumption during the four weeks ending 25th September averaged 99,335 tons per week. Deliveries in the week ending 11th December, which is the first complete week covered by the available figures, were 73,257 tons. I should however warn the hon. Member not to draw any conclusions from these figures. I hope to make a statement on this matter in the New Year.
