Mr. Collinsasked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of its importance to the development of television, he is in a position to give any further information with regard to proposed legislative action to provide for the compulsory suppression of electrical interference with radio reception in accordance with the recommendation of the Council of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
§ Mr. Wilfred PalingI regret I am not in a position to give further information. Although the difficult technical questions involved are being considered I am unable to say when it will be possible to proceed with legislation.
