§ Mr. WoodburnThe cost of marketing the 1947 wool clip, including all administrative expenses, has been estimated at approximately 15 per cent. of the average cost of purchase. The exact figure will not be known until the end of the current season, when all fleece wool has been collected, graded, sorted and sold.

Macphersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland why he is allowing the selling price of Cheviot washed wool, purchased at 20¼ pence to rise to as much as 48 pence; and whether he will release adequate supplies of wool to ensure that selling prices are maintained at a reasonable level.
