HC Deb 15 December 1947 vol 445 c270W
38. Mr. Spence

asked the Minister of Food what tonnage of barley and/or barley products has been exported to Italy during 1947; and what contracts for the future he has entered into or what quantities remain undelivered.

Mr. Strachey

The export of barley or barley products to Italy is now prohibited. No barley has been sent there, but up to 31st October, the latest date for which figures are available, 364 tons of barley products have been exported. No contracts have been entered into by the Ministry of Food for the export of barley or barley products to Italy during 1947.
