§ 107. Mr. Molsonasked the Minister of Works why certain premises in Hobson's Yard, Buxton, requisitioned under Defence Regulation 51 on 23rd July, 1943, have been retained for so long after the National Fire Service had ceased to use them; what was the total rent paid for them after they became empty; and what was the purpose of the retrospective transfer of the property to the Ministry of Works, as from the 30th September, 1947
§ Mr. KeyThese premises were transferred to my Ministry because the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries required to use them as a milk testing laboratory. The owner then requested their release and we have been trying to find alternative accommodation for the Ministry of Agriculture. Premises have now been found which it is hoped may meet the needs of the Ministry of Agriculture and enable Hobson's Yard to be released. The total rent paid since the premises were vacated is £45.
