asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that there is an accumulation of women's wearing apparel in stock disproportionate to that available for men; and whether he will arrange future allocations of material to ensure that this unbalance is corrected.

Yes, I am aware of this disparity which is largely due to the fact that the men's wear trade have not yet recovered from the drain occasioned by the provision of some four million demobilisation outfits. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my right hon. Friend to the hon. Member for Spen Valley (Mr. Sharp) on 24th November.
