§ 94. Commander Purseyasked the Minister of Fuel and Power the percentage of the allocation of four cwt. of coal for domestic consumers for the four weeks ending 29th November supplied to the London area; what was the percentage used to increase stocks in merchants' yards and for licence deliveries of coal, respectively; and what should have been the average delivery per registered consumer.
§ Mr. GaitskellI regret that the required information cannot be obtained without elaborate investigation involving much time and labour which cannot be justified in present circumstances.
§ 95. Commander Purseyasked the Minister of Fuel and Power the number of domestic coal consumers in the Borough of Wandsworth registered with Busbys, Ltd.; the number to whom the full allocation of 15 cwt. for the summer period, 1st May to 31st October, was delivered; the number who received less than the London average of 10 cwt.; and what steps he proposes to take to ensure a more equitable distribution by this firm of the coal supplied to them.
§ Mr. GaitskellMessrs. Busby, Limited have 1,173 domestic registrations in the Borough of Wandsworth. I regret that the full information asked for in the second part of the Question is not readily available, but I am informed that in general consumers who have ordered 10 cwt. or more have received 10 cwt. With regard to the last part of the Question, any consumer who thinks he has not received fair treatment may apply to the local fuel overseer; I have no reason to suppose that any other action is necessary.
