§ Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the verdict given in the case of the editor of the "Heysham and Morecambe Visitor" on 17th November, he proposes to seek further legislative powers to enable anti-semitism to be dealt with.
§ Mr. EdeI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State on 20th November, 1947, to a Question by the hon. Member for Mile End (Mr. Piratin).
§ Mr. Platts-Millsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if his attention has been drawn to the fact that, on a charge of using insulting words liable to cause a breach of the peace, Edward Jeffery Hamm, being already bound over, was bound over for twelve months at the North London Police Court on 18th October; and that on a charge of seditiously writing and publishing a seditious libel concerning people of the Jewish faith and race resident in Great Britain. James Caunt was found not guilty at the Liverpool Assizes on 17th November; and whether he will amend the law regarding incitement to racial antagonism.
