§ Mr. Byersasked the Minister of National Insurance if, in view of the urgent necessity for increasing the labour force, he will consider immediate methods to ensure that old age pensioners are not penalised in any way by taking on full-or part-time jobs.

GriffithsAs I have already said on previous occasions, the relevant provisions of the National Insurance Act were expressly framed so as to provide special 245W inducements to old people to remain at work. These provisions will come into operation when the new scheme is brought into force as a whole.
