HC Deb 04 August 1947 vol 441 c107W
4. Lieutenant-Commander Clark Hutchison

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware of the great difficulty which doctors are experiencing in obtaining new motor cars; and if he will consider allowing the import of motor cars from abroad in cases where the absence of a reliable motor car is having an adverse effect on the work of a doctor.

Mr. Wilmot

As explained by my right hon. and learned Friend the President of the Board of Trade in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Huntingdon (Mr. Renton) on 10th July, import licences are only granted where the cars are genuine gifts.
