HC Deb 04 August 1947 vol 441 c120W
98. Mr. Sharp

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is now able to relax the general administrative instruction to Regional Transport Commissioners that, except in proved cases of extreme hardship to passengers, omnibus stops should not exceed four to a mile.

Mr. Barnes

We must maintain the general rule so long as the present difficulties in bus operation continue, but Regional Transport Commissioners consider sympathetically cases of hardship.
