§ 69. Major Bruceasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether it is proposed to publish the reports of the several committees engaged on the various aspects of officer recruitment during 1946; and whether he will give an indication as to the future of the Dartmouth and Special Entry schemes.
Mr. DugdaleNo, Sir. Those committees were appointed to advise the Board 233W of Admiralty on naval problems and It would be contrary to the usual policy to publish their reports. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to my statement in the recent Debate on the Navy Estimates when I said that I hoped to be able to announce the changes to be made in the Dartmouth and Special Entry Schemes in about eight weeks' time.
