§ 21. Sir P. Macdonaldasked the Minister of Works the dates on which it is anticipated that the Government contracts for the importation of bricks from Belgium will come to an end; and whether, if the production of British bricks is now adequate to meet the demand, he will take steps to prohibit the further importation of Belgian bricks.
§ Mr. KeyI expect these contracts to be completed by the end of July. No further Government contracts for foreign bricks are contemplated, but I cannot recommend the prohibition of imports.
