§ Mr. BellengerPrisoners of war employed in British officers' and men's messes are paid working pay from public funds in the same way as all other prisoners of war who replace British personnel. Prisoners of war employed as cooks in camp compounds do not fall into 189W this category and consequently do not receive working pay from public funds, but are paid a bonus from camp welfare funds.
