HC Deb 21 April 1947 vol 436 c61W
Mr. Sharp

asked the Minister of Works if he will give details of the work carried out by the regional site control section of his Department.

Mr. Key

The function of the regional site control is to supervise and progress building work on behalf of the architect or engineer responsible for the scheme; to advise him of difficulties which may arise on the site; and generally to assist in obtaining labour, materials, plant and transport for the Ministry's building schemes in the Regions. The use of the control reduces the call on the time of the architect or the engineer and by dealing promptly with local difficulties helps to ensure smooth working.
