Morrisonasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury (1) how many ex-Servicemen of the 2 1914–18 war were engaged as temporary civil servants during the course of the last war; and on what grounds the preference in retention given to such ex-Servicemen prior to 1939 has been continued for those recruited since 1939;
(2) how many temporary civil servants have received discharge notices; how many of these are ex-Servicemen of the last war; and how many are ex-Servicemen of the 1914–18 war.
§ Mr. Glenvil HallA pledge was given after the 1914–18 war that ex-Servicemen of that war should have preference in 351W retention in temporary Government employment.
