HC Deb 03 April 1947 vol 435 cc372-3W
Mr. Bramall

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether the special measures now being taken to move food to the Ruhr and Rhineland areas were initiated before or after the outbreak of disturbances in that area.

Mr. J. Hynd

These measures were taken by the British authorities after the disturbances, which were largely due to dislocation in the German food collection and distribution arrangements caused by recent severe winter conditions.
