§ 80. Mr. S. Shephardasked the Minister of Health if it is his intention to adhere to the target figure of 240,000 new permanent houses to be built during 1947; and if this target figure is in accordance with the number of houses allocated to local authorities in the country.
§ Mr. BevanI would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 13th March to my hon. Friend the Member for Acton (Mr. Sparks), of which I am sending him a copy. The programmes of local authorities are being based on the figure of 240,000 houses, which, however, is in no sense a target.
§ 82. Mr. Shephardasked the Minister of Health the housing programme for Newark Borough and the rural districts of Bingham, Southwell and Newark for 1947 as now amended by his Department; and in what respect the new targets differ from those of the local authorities concerned.
§ Mr. BevanI hope to publish the programmes for each local authority with the housing return for the month of March.
