HC Deb 03 April 1947 vol 435 c355W
80. Mr. S. Shephard

asked the Minister of Health if it is his intention to adhere to the target figure of 240,000 new permanent houses to be built during 1947; and if this target figure is in accordance with the number of houses allocated to local authorities in the country.

Mr. Bevan

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 13th March to my hon. Friend the Member for Acton (Mr. Sparks), of which I am sending him a copy. The programmes of local authorities are being based on the figure of 240,000 houses, which, however, is in no sense a target.

82. Mr. Shephard

asked the Minister of Health the housing programme for Newark Borough and the rural districts of Bingham, Southwell and Newark for 1947 as now amended by his Department; and in what respect the new targets differ from those of the local authorities concerned.

Mr. Bevan

I hope to publish the programmes for each local authority with the housing return for the month of March.
