HC Deb 02 April 1947 vol 435 c336W
118. Mr. Wilkes

asked the Secretary of State for War whether instructions will be given for the immediate compassionate home posting of 14458071 Private R. Molone, 2nd Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, S.E.A.C., whose home address is 7 Hawthorn Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne, regarding whose mother a doctor's certificate was forwarded by the hon. Member for Newcastle, Central, on 28th March, 1947.

Mr. J. Freeman

As my hon. Friend is aware, Private Malone was flown home from South-East Asia on 28th January to see his mother and remained in this country on leave from 2nd February till 11th March. Although the circumstances have again been reported to his overseas command I regret that no special recommendation can be made for his return, which must remain within the discretion of his command.
