HC Deb 02 April 1947 vol 435 cc331-2W
110. Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General, if the B.B.C. receive or pay fees for gramophone records used for broadcasting; and what information is available as to the amount received, or paid, during the last 12 months.

Mr. Burke

The B.B.C. pays fees to the gramophone companies for the use of gramophone records for broadcasting. It does not receive any fees on account of such broadcasts. I have no information as regards the amount of the fees paid.
