HC Deb 02 April 1947 vol 435 c308W
70. Mr. Keeling

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether there are any arrangements for the dispatch of parcels of rationed food to Germany and Austria for distribution among displaced persons of such nationality as may be named by the sender.

Mr. J. Hynd

There is no special scheme for the despatch of parcels earmarked for displaced persons of any particular nationality. Parcels designated for displaced persons can, however, be sent through "Save Europe Now "for distribution by the British Red Cross among displaced persons whose need is greatest. Food parcels addressed to individual displaced persons in Germany and Austria may be sent under the parcel post service.
