§ Mr. Edward Daviesasked the Minister of Works why, in view of the need for the maximum production of bricks, only 21 brickworks out of 31 are working at at present time.
§ Mr. KeyI assume my hon. Friend is referring to North Staffordshire. Six of the ten brickworks there which are not producing bricks are manufacturing other needed products, mainly roofing tiles; two others are being prepared for resumption of production, and the remaining two are derelict.
