§ Mr. Chetwyndasked the Minister of Food if he is aware of the difficulty in obtaining supplies of tinned bacon since the recent downpointing; and whether he will increase the allocation to retailers in Stockton-on-Tees.
§ Mr. StracheyThe points value of canned bacon was reduced to 12 points per lb. on 2nd March to help traders to clear stocks which were unsaleable in some areas at 24 points per lb. One further small release is being made and the retailers in Stockton-on-Tees should be able to obtain part of this final allocation.
