HC Deb 31 October 1946 vol 428 c122W
Mr. Dodds-Parker

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General why envelopes are not being issued in which to send Post Office Savings Bank books to London for their annual interest.

Mr. Burke

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on 23rd July to a similar Question by the hon. Member for Brighton (Mr. Teeling), of which I am sending him a copy. The conditions which made it necessary to restrict the sending up of bank books for examination still persist; but I am hopeful that it will be possible to make some relaxation before long.
