HC Deb 31 October 1946 vol 428 c138W
97. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health how many temporary and permanent houses are now under contract in Bristol.

Mr. Bevan

I would refer my hon. Friend to the Monthly Housing Return, Appendix B.

98. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health how many dwelling houses and business premises were damaged in Bristol during the war; and how many have now been repaired.

Mr. Bevan

82,610 dwelling houses were damaged, of which 3,230 were either destroyed or not repairable. The Corporation have repaired 78,820. I regret that it is not possible without much research to state how many dwelling houses have been repaired privately or to give the information requested about business premises.

99. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health how many people have been rehoused in repaired and requisitioned houses in Bristol.

Mr. Bevan

I regret that the number of people rehoused in repaired houses is not known, but 8,138 persons were rehoused in requisitioned premises.
