HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 c95W
68. Mr. King

asked the Minister of Food whether he is satisfied with the premises now being used as slaughter houses in Bread Street, Penzance; if he is aware that their situation permits children to watch the process of slaughtering; and if he is satisfied that his powers are sufficient to deal with this matter.

Mr. Strachey

I find that these slaughter houses are not satisfactory and have instructed my officials to undertake a fresh search for alternative premises and to report to me.
