HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 c116W
Mr. Mort

asked the Minister of Transport the amount of shipping directly or indirectly controlled by the Government, including the War Department, during the past three months, with details of ports of discharge and final destination of cargo; how much of the cargo required warehousing and the warehouse accommodation available; and at which ports waggons had to be used for storage.

Mr. Barnes

As all British shipping is directly or indirectly controlled by the Government it is not possible for me to deal with these questions within the scope of Parliamentary Question and answer. If, however, the hon. Member will indicate to me what particular ships or types of ship he has in mind, I will endeavour to reply.
