HC Deb 29 October 1946 vol 428 c79W
80. Mr. Piratin

asked the Secretary of State for War how many camps in Britain have been occupied by Polish troops and by what number; and how many of the 145 camps now occupied by civilians, but required for Government purposes, are to be handed over to the Polish Forces.

Mr. Bellenger

Two hundred and sixty-five camps have been occupied by about 120,000 Polish troops. So far as the War Office is concerned, we do not intend at present to hand over to Polish troops any of the camps now occupied by squatters which are required for Government purposes.
