HC Deb 28 October 1946 vol 428 c52W
Mr. Paget

asked the Minister of National Insurance why Mr. and Mrs. Brogden, 65, Queen Eleanor Road, Far Cotton, and Mrs. E. L. Merry, 27, Randall Road, all of Northampton, who were eligible for the increased retirement pension at the appointed day, have not received their old age pension books to enable them to draw their pensions.

Mr. J. Griffiths

Pension order books at the increased rates were not issued to Mr. and Mrs. Brogden because my Department has no record of any notice from Mr. Brogden that he has retired from regular employment. Inquiries are now being made to ascertain whether this condition is satisfied. An order book at the increased rate payable to Mrs. E. L. Merry from 1st October was sent to the Post Office at Kingsley Park, Northampton. As it appears to have gone astray a second order book has been issued.
