HC Deb 25 October 1946 vol 428 c36W
Mr. Paget

asked the Minister of National Insurance why Mrs. Cadd, 2, Alton Street, Far Cotton, Northampton, has not received family allowances in respect of five children and one grandchild maintained by her, all under 16 years of age; and why her letters to his Department remain unanswered.

Mr. J. Griffiths

I regret the delay in dealing with Mrs. Cadd's claim, but it gave rise to some difficult questions which called for detailed investigation. She has now been told that an award of family allowances of 20s. a week has been made to her as from 6th August, and a book has been issued accordingly.
