HC Deb 24 October 1946 vol 428 cc10-1W
75. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of National Insurance if he will make provision that when a case has been referred by a doctor to the specialists of the Silicosis Board and a medical examination has been made, a report of this examination shall be sent to the practitioner in charge to assist him in the further treatment of the case.

Mr. J. Griffiths

A copy of the board's report on the question whether silicosis or some other form of pneumoconiosis is present is given to the man or his representative but, as at present advised, I do not think it would be desirable to ask the board, which is a specialist body, to furnish reports on other conditions which may incidentally be observed in the course of the examination.
