HC Deb 24 October 1946 vol 428 cc19-20W
105. Colonel Wheatley

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will arrange to speed up the mails to Hong Kong which are stamped according to the Forces concession rates.

Mr. J. Freeman

I am aware that Forces air mails to Hong Kong have been delayed in recent months. The main reason is that this route involves some of the most difficult flying conditions in the world, but demobilisation has also entailed some curtailment of air services. I am keeping the situation under review to ensure that mails do reach Hong Kong as quickly as circumstances allow.
