§ 137. Mr. Burdenasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the Highfield Tool Works, Little London Road, Sheffield, was closed on 4th January 1946, and approximately 120 employees discharged; and what steps have been taken to find employment, in their own trades, for the persons discharged.
§ Mr. Ness EdwardsI understand that 70 men and 10 women were employed at the Highfield Tool Works immediately before the firm closed down and that all redundant workers were either placed in employment by my Department or found work. If there is any particular case which my hon. Friend has in mind, I shall be glad to have it looked into if he will let me have particulars.
